The number of leasing transactions in Utrecht reached a record high level last year, (with around 145,000 m² leased in 2005), which clearly shows the dynamism of the Utrecht real estate markets. In particular, the new commercial office location of Papendorp was extremely popular last year, with several transactions over 5,000 m². But transactions also crossed the 5,000 m² mark in the area around the Central Station in the centre of Utrecht. The rents in Utrecht are quite reasonable in comparison for example to Amsterdam and The Hague, and vary between 90Є/m² and 200Є/m², depending on the location. You will find Axa, Rabobank, SNS Reaal and of course the Koninklijke Jaarbeurs in the central area. In Rijnsweerd, there are among others, Ernst & Young, Fortis and CMS Derkstar Busmann.
